Sisters Hospital, St. Joseph Campus Emergency Department - CLOSED 

The Emergency Department at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus is CLOSED due to the hospital now being a COVID-19 Treatment Facility.

Local EMS providers have been notified of this change. Emergency services at Sisters Hospital’s Main St. Campus in Buffalo are not affected by this closure.

Individuals with medical emergencies are asked not to go to St. Joseph Campus. They should call 9-1-1 or go to their nearest open emergency department.

Commissioner’s Standing Order Directive for Medical Professions and Individuals Who Collect Specimens for COVID-19 Testing in Erie County

On May 23, 2020, the Erie County Health Commissioner updated guidance for providers, including:

  •  Documentation Update for Patient Packets, including newest updates from Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
  • Updated Isolation Guidance from 7 to 10 days when symptomatic; and non-symptomatic, but with positive test

ECDOH Shares Wellness Messages For Children and Adults

Dr Gale Burstein, Erie County Health Commissioner is urging parents to take their kids to the pediatrician and encouraging older adults to access needed health care. The videos are available on YouTube for parents and older adults. Providers may decide to share these videos on social media platforms, via EHR portals or other means.
